Do women have a problem with this?

jenl19 asked:

I am a guy that is transitioning into a girl. I have to start living full-time so I can begin hormone therapy. I am not 100% passable yet, but I feel I’m close. I am still having trouble with my voice and I have some masculine facial features (that I will correct with plastic surgery soon.) Does it bother women to see someone like me using women’s restrooms or shopping and trying on clothes in women’s boutiques? Just curious.
It depends on the type of transgender person. Most crossdressers are straight. I’m a transsexual, I am a woman trapped in a man’s body. I like men. I consider myself a straight woman.

I don’t suppose they do unless you’re still attracted to women. In that case I dunno if that would classify you as a lesbian.

    Anyways anon demands pics.

No. I don’t mind at all.

I must confess that I am a little confused. Are transgendered people usually gay? Do you like girls and want to be one or do you like guys?

I am a guy myself, so I am not sure how helpful I can be on your question here.

But it occurs to me that you have only two choices in matters like this; men’s room or women’s room. And if you go to the men’s room looking like a woman, you’ll either be disrespected (hooting and cat calls if they don’t realize you were a man or simply like tranvestites/transexuals), gawked at (again for similar reasons), or severely hurt if they do not understand or are angered by that kind of thing.

For all intents and purposes, whether women are all right with it or not, you kind of have to go to the women’s room now. I am not trying to be mean in any kind of way, if any of that came across as such. But the situation is what it is, and must be dealt with in terms of reality.

You’re a dude pretending to be something you aren’t. If you, a male, think you can just walk into a woman’s restrooms, or try on woman’s clothes, don’t be surprised if you see a few raised eyebrows or expressions of disgust from others. You asked for it, so if it happens, don’t complain and just deal with it.

Good for you, it must be hard to find the courage to do something like that considering all the opposition you may face (if Y!A is any indication). Personally, I wouldn’t care if you used the women’s restrooms.

It would never bother me, what bothers me is people who freak out about those who are different than themselves.

I have a few M to F friends and would never consider them less feminine or less of a woman than I. On the contrary, I think of them as much *more* feminine because they were willing to go through puberty twice to become a woman…I only had to do it once!

If you are a woman, you are a woman. Period. Whether you were born that way or had to catch up to yourself later on. So yes, you’re a lady, so use the ladies’ room =)

I probably wouldn’t know unless you told me anyway, and even if I did I might be a little surprised. But I’m cool with it.
