Hormone Replacement Therapy?

byhisello99 asked:

Does anyone have any reliable data on the increased lifetime risk of breast cancer in women over 50 who resume hormone replacement therapy? “It causes breast cancer” is not, of course, accurate; it does increase lifetime risk by a quantifiable amount in those who are genetically inclined to develop breast cancer.

Would specifically like data on increased lifetime risk for women over 50 who conduct weekl;y self-exams and get mammograms done yearly. The next step is 15 year survival rates for those in that category who DO develop breast cancer. My suspicion is that the added lifetime risk of dying from breast cancer within 15 years of developing it, if it ever develops, for those who pursue early detection and resume HRT, will turn out to be something in the range of zero point one percent.

Epidemeologists, hoping for your answers. Thanks!

I follow the hormone scare for years and years. I myself use HRT for the last 20 years. In spite of the cancer scare I continue using it, I simply diminished the quantities all the time. I think you might find more info on a great site called ORGYN.COM. The percentage you mention is not zero but not very high, that is why I continue, hopefully safely till the end.
